Junk: A Spectacular Tale of Trash is the story of a young girl and her adventures collecting, reusing, and recycling. In the nonfiction book Kids Can Reuse shares different ways of reusing and the benefit to the community. Activities in this bundle focus on sequencing story events and identifying story elements, writing and/or drawing about a favorite part of the story, researching about reusing, comparing and contrasting items that were reused or recycled in the texts, and creating an art project by reusing materials from around the house. Students are also encouraged to share their learning, create a question, and reflect on their learning. Great for media specialists and teachers looking for standards-based activities to aid in the support of remote learning or for parents wanting to help or enhance their child’s education with content-rich books and activities!
