By helping students focus on core subjects and 21st century themes and skills, our books:

  • Promote the understanding of academic content at a much deeper level.

  • Promote the ability to navigate the complex life and work environments in the globally connected world.

How We Write

When Cherry Lake Publishing set out to create the 21st Century Skills Library, we challenged our authors and content experts to do more than just write to existing content standards: we challenged them to infuse each book with the themes and skills that students will need to master to be prepared for life in the 21st century.

Our 3 Goals

  1. To drive student achievement and performance.
  2. To prepare students for life in the 21st century.
  3. To make the activity of learning fun and engaging for young people.

Testimonials

"Z is for Zeitgeist?' I always check the z entry of an alphabet book first, and was I surprised when I looked at the last letter in D is for Democracy! The use of the term 'zeitgeist' puts a brilliant cap on this look at the fundamental rights and responsibilities of living in a democracy. Yes, it's an ABC book, but one with a solid commitment to democratic ideals and the belief that, as stated in 'Q is for Questions' that 'Taking part in a democracy is every citizen's task.'"
