Stan Steiner is The Bookman. Anyone who takes his classes at Boise State University is inspired to read good books; anyone who hears Dr. Stan read a book wants to read another. Prior to his present position teaching children's and young adult literature at Boise State University, he taught elementary school for 15 years. Stan and his wife, Joy, present across America, combining their love of literature and story. P is for Potato: An Idaho Alphabet is Stan's first book for Sleeping Bear Press.

Joy Steiner tells stories with a sense of adventure. She has backpacked over snow cornices still clinging to the mountains in July; canoed past cottonwoods cluttered with great blue heron nests, leapt into icy high mountain lakes green with glacier dust; and snorkeled with barracuda in the warm gulf waters of Mexico. These experiences inspire her performances of original stories and world folk tales. P is for Potato: An Idaho Alphabet is Joy's first book for Sleeping Bear Press.
Illustrator: Jocelyn Slack
Jocelyn's childhood memories include a home filled with canvases, sculptures and the smell of turpentine and oil paints. She was allowed to work on many projects with her mom's wonderful array of artist's materials. Jocelyn attended the California College of Arts and Crafts in Oakland, California and studied for several summers at the Banff School of Fine Arts in Alberta, Canada.Jocelyn divides her time between Garden Valley, Idaho on the South Fork of the Payette River and Wilson, Wyoming. Her work as an artist has included murals, sandblasted glass, magazine illustration, logo design, and T-shirt and fabric design. She also produces limited edition prints.She and her husband love to ski, run rivers and hike. They have a daughter, Luna, two cats and nine chickens.
