Story Monsters Ink - Apple Pie Tired
Lola’s family makes thousands of apple pies each year from the apples they grow in their orchards. She wants to start fixing things for the family’s Thanksgiving dinner, but the pies must be done first. When the pies are finally finished, she is so very tired (apple pie tired) and doesn’t have enough energy to make all the things she wants to cook. Kid-friendly text, along with a kid-friendly theme, make this a fun book for kids (and everyone), especially since author Beth Charles includes a family recipe for apple pie at the end of the book. (Ages 5-8)

Author: Beth Charles
Beth Charles grew up in northern New Jersey and always thought she’d be a librarian like her mom or a teacher like her dad. Instead, she married a librarian and became a museum curator. Later, she and her husband moved to Vermont, and along with several family members, bought Mendon Mountain Orchards, a historic apple orchard. Now that one of her grown children owns the orchard, Beth has more time to knit, write books for kids, and spend time with her grandchildren. She still spends plenty of time at the orchard helping out, and when Thanksgiving comes and everyone pitches in, she’s still Apple Pie Tired!
