Savor the Day
In this ode to the delights found in a summer’s day, readers of all ages are encouraged to notice and enjoy—to savor—the little things in life.
When a young girl takes a day trip to the beach with her grandfather, together they savor the pleasures found in nature. Beginning with the moment she wakes to her grandfather’s voice, the possibilities for shared simple delights are endless as the day unfolds before them. From the breathtaking chill of the water to the mouthwatering treats of summer-ripe fruit to the tickle of sand between the toes, this beach adventure comes to life in joyful, rhyming text. And after admiring the sunset at day’s end, it’s time to head back home, thankful for the time spent together.
