The Poetry of Poo
And Other Gross Things No One Ever Seems to Write Poetry About
Fans of Jeff Foxworthy and Shel Silverstein’s poetry will adore this comical collection of verse about farting, poo, and other gross-out topics that will keep kids cackling!
Nothing gets kids giggling like a fart joke—and this collection of poetry has enough to satisfy any silly student. With hilarious poems and illustrations that kids will love—and that some adults might find downright cringeworthy—this clever title also introduces young readers to different forms of poetry and encourages them to write some of their own.
Author Nicholas Solis has been honing his jokes as an elementary school teacher for more than twenty-five years and deeply understands the hold humor has on kids!

Author: Nicholas Solis
Nicholas Solis was a pretty shy kid. It took him a long time to find his voice. Now he writes books hoping to inspire others to find theirs. His books The Color Collector and My Town Mi Pueblo promote kindness, acceptance, and courage. Nicholas lives in Austin, Texas with his wife, two sons, and their dog named Charlie. He loves writing, teaching, and spending time with his family.
Illustrator: Scott Brown
A childhood sketch of Superman by his father first inspired Scott to draw. Fueled by Mad Magazine, comic strips and Chuck Jones animation, that passion grew into a love for storytelling. Today, Scott’s illustrations span children’s books, comics, games, and television. His clients include Scholastic, Disney, Nickelodeon, Image Comics, Viking, and Random House. Originally from Gloucester, Massachusetts, he now lives on Florida’s Left Gulf Coast with his wife, two daughters, and their diabolical pug, Duncan.
