The lives of astronauts prove fascinating to any child who has a dream of traveling in space. In Letters from Space, an International Space Station astronaut author tells the story of life in space through letters that he imagined sending. The biography Sally Ride recounts the life story of the first woman astronaut. The activities with this bundle include sequencing story events, writing and/or drawing about a favorite part of the story, researching about an important person, comparing experiences of two astronauts, creating a timeline, and writing a letter from space or writing and/or drawing a story about a space mission. Students are also encouraged to share their learning from the activities.
